A fun game of miniature golf helped some local kids in a pretty serious way on Saturday. GIANT Food Stores hosted its annual Celebrity Putting Contest for the Children’s Miracle Network. More than 20 local radio and TV personalities and sports mascots partnered with children to play six holes for prizes.
Young golfer Samantha Merrell says, “It was really fun trying to get the ball into the hole, like shooting and trying to get it in.”
Many of the youngsters say their favorite part was making a hole in one.
GIANT has held the Putting Contest for the past 18-years to help local hospitals provide care and conduct life saving research to help children with diseases and injuries.
FOX43 was happy to take part. Our own MaryEllen Pann, Amanda McCall, Chris Garrett and Rebecca Solomon were on hand to take a swing.
