Police investigate multi-vehicle crash that claims life of a Spring Grove man

West Hempfield Township police are investigating an overnight crash that took the life of a 29-year-old Spring Grove man.

According to police, a crash involving 2 motorcycles and 2 cars occurred around 2:12a.m. Sunday on Route 30 west at Malleable Road. A Hyundai sedan driven by a 31-year-old Dover man struck two motorcyclist causing both riders to lose control and crash.

One of the riders, a Spring Grove man, died at the scene of the crash and the second rider, a 26-year-old Seven Valleys man, was transported to the hospital for life threatening injuries police said.

According to police the sedan involved in the crash rolled onto its roof. The driver was transported to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of a Nissan SUV came up on the crash and struck one of the motorcycles and the sedan when he was unable to stop. The driver was uninjured police said.

The crash is still under investigation and anyone with any information pertaining to the crash are asked to contact West Hempfield Township police.
