13 month old Lancaster County boy drowns at Raystown Lake

A 13 month old Lancaster County boy is dead from drowning at Raystown Lake in Huntingdon County. It happened at about 8 o’clock Wednesday morning. Pennsylvania State Police the drowning of Jamari Maliik Benjamin, of Ephrata was accidental.

Police say a Good Samaritan who was in a nearby boat helped the parents transport the child to meet EMS personnel. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning.

Police are looking to identify the Good Samaritan, who was operating a blue and white boat.  Anyone with information about that person is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police – Huntingdon, at (814) 627-3161.
