Hundreds of people made their way to Riverfront Park in Harrisburg Saturday for the 23rd annual Pride Festival of Central PA.

Organizers say the annual event is a great way for all members of the community to come together to celebrate diversity and equality.

Organizers say this year, the festival is even more special because they have a lot to celebrate; Pennsylvania legalized same-sex marriage back in May.

“I married my partner last year in Boston and I never expected it here in Pennsylvania so quickly,” said Brad Martin, the president of the Pride Festival of Central PA. “It’s nice to be able to get married here in your hometown or your home state,” he added.

Organizers say last year, around 5,000 people attended the festival.

They say they expect the same great turnout this year as well.
