The world’s largest collector car auction company hosted a 4-day event in Harrisburg over the weekend, and it was quite a success.
Mecum Auctions held the huge car and motorcycle auction at the State Farm Show Complex.
It’s the first time the company has ever had an auction in our state capitol and representatives say about 1,000 cars and 200 vintage motorcycles were up for grabs. The show drew quite a crowd and brought in nearly $20-million in sales.
Sam Murtaugh, Marketing Director for Mecum Auctions says, “We had cars that would sell for as little as $3500 all the way up to our top seller which was a Hemi Dodge Coronet that sold for $305,000  so, a pretty big range of cars, but i think that’s what everybody loves about a Mecum auction.
Other cars on the auction block included Corvettes, 50’s models and other collector editions.
Vintage and antique motorcycles were also for sale including a 1916 Harley Davidson.
