U.N. holds midnight meeting to discuss fighting between Israel and Hamas
The United Nations Security Council held an emergency midnight meeting in New York City to discuss the ongoing fighting in the Middle East.
They expressed support for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas forces.
The council says a cease fire would allow them to provide assistance to people living there.
The U.N. also announced its support for a two state solution.
In theory, this would allow Israelis and Palestinians to live side by side in peace.
