Hotel reportedly charges fine for bad reviews

weddingAn upstate New York hotel is catching some heat for a bizarre policy when it comes to online reviews. The Union Street Guest House in Hudson says on its website it keeps $500 of a wedding couples’ deposit if a guest posts a bad review online.

If the write-up is taken down then the fee is reversed, the hotel is claiming it was all a joke but the post has outraged some Facebook users.

    It could be considered a joke if the contract did not state that they may do such a thing and if they had not ever attempted to do so..
