Five people in Harrisburg are forced from their apartment, after a fire breaks out.
It happened Sunday afternoon at the row home 1910 State Street in Harrisburg.
The city’s Acting Fire Chief, Brian Enterline tells FOX43 the fire started in an unoccupied, first floor apartment and spread upward to apartments above in the rest of the three-story home.
The people living on the second floor were alerted by neighbors and got out safely.
Enterline says there were no working smoke alarms in the building, which led to a delay in the Fire Bureau receiving the alarm.
The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental. The displaced residents are receiving help from the American Red Cross. Life Team EMS provided water and cold towels to the firefighters working on the scene.
