One man injured in Saturday night shooting in York

York City police are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left one man injured.

According to police, officers were called to the 300 block of West Gay Street around 9:48 p.m. Saturday for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival police found Michael Shingler, of York, shot once in the back while he was visiting friends in the area police said.

Shingler and witnesses told police they heard about five shots when Shingler was struck.

Shingler was taken to York Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
