CLEAR FOR SUPERMOON

A dominant area of high pressure continues to keep fair weather across the Lower Susquehanna Valley. The clouds that bubbled up during the daytime fade into the evening, leaving perfect viewing for the supermoon viewing as it rises above the horizon. It is the closest supermoon this year, and it won’t be this close again until next year after tonight. In fact, it will only occur once in 2015. Try to catch it while we have optimal viewing conditions! Skies stay mostly clear for the night, with lows milder in the 60s.

Monday the clouds increase ahead of our next system, but it’s a dry day for the area. It’s a bit breezy too, with highs in the lower 80s. Overnight Monday and into Tuesday showers and a few thunderstorms work into the area as our next system crosses through. Heavy rain is possible at times Monday night through Tuesday night before the system clears the area. Expect the possibility of ponding on poor drainage roadways and rises in creek and small streams where the heaviest rainfall aligns. Some lingering showers are possible Wednesday. Highs will hover near 80 degrees through the middle of next week.

COOL WITH CLOUDS

By Thursday and Friday, and upper level area of low pressure parks itself right to the north of us. This brings cool air and plenty of clouds to end the week. A few isolated showers are possible too, but neither day is a washout. Highs will hover well below seasonable averages, in the middle to upper 70s. Expect some cool, even chilly nights too! By the weekend, temperatures moderate with plenty of sunshine. Highs are near 80 degrees.

Have a great week!
