Training camp has started for high school football and one team in York County has a coaching legend on their staff.  That is former Mid-Penn head man, George Chaump.

He’s now the offensive coordinator at York High.  He most recently was the head man at Central Dauphin East and Harrisburg High.
Chaump has been coaching for 58 years so there’s no doubt he brings experience to the Bearcats.

“I like to contribute to everything and Shawn lets me do a lot of the offense and help on the defense and I just want to coach, doesn’t matter what it is.”

Shawn Heinold, York High Head Football Coach

“As we sat down and talked and talked, he really sold me into the system that he’s been developing over the last year and half.  I think that its something will ultimately make us better as a team and our coaches our learning a lot from him everyday, just a great resource to have.”

York has their first game of the year, Friday August 29th at Reading.
