A 20-year-old Carlisle man attacks his grandmother after drinking and smoking

Police arrested a 20-year-old Carlisle man after they say he attacked his 64-year-old grandmother.

According to police, Dashawn Devonshire drank an alcoholic beverage and smoked marijuana before attacking his grandmother Tuesday night at a residence  located along the 200 block of North West Street.

The grandmother sustained minor injuries but she did not need medical attention, police said.

Devonshire is now charged possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment, underage drinking and public drunkenness.

Devonshire was taken to Cumberland County Prison for processing and was released once he was sober.
