LANCASTERFIRE

Lancaster City fire crews successfully rescue a man from the top of a burning building this morning.  The blaze broke out around 10:15 am on the 300 block of North Queen Street.  The fire was contained to the third floor rear bedroom.  Fire officials say the resident of the home was not there at the time of the fire.  But another man thought he was, so he went in to the fire to save him.  Fire crews ended up rescuing that man through the fire escape.

Assistant Fire Marshal, Ken Wright, says, “Our guys were here in a heart beat.  We had a 3 to 5 minute response time.  A great job getting here, leave it to us.”

Wright says the cause is under investigation but it’s believed to be accidental.
