MORE HEAVY T’STORMS

Afternoon storms possible Thursday

A weakening storm system continues the threat for heavy showers and thunderstorms once again on Thursday. The morning hours will be the driest time frame. Only a few isolated showers are possible. There will be foggy and hazy spots once again. The fog burns off, leading way to a bit of sunshine from the late morning until the early afternoon. As thunderstorms fire up during the afternoon, some have the potential to produce locally heavy downpours. Highs are warm and muggy in the lower to middle 80s. Overnight, the showers wane, but a few isolated showers are still likely. Lows are sticky and mild once again, in the middle 60s to lower 70s.

DRYING INTO THE WEEKEND

As this system finally heads out to sea, it stalls right off of the coast, just to the south of New England on Friday. This blocks the flow, and results in the chance for showers on Friday. Otherwise, high pressure working in from the northeast squashes the shower chance, and sends the disturbance out to sea. On Sunday, expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds. Temperatures through the weekend remain below seasonable averages. Highs hover near 80 degrees, but Saturday looks like a day where the region will be stuck in the 70s.

NEXT WEEK

Dry weather continues through early next week. A blocked flow keeps our next system to the west of the area. This means plenty of sunshine for Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday clouds build a little as the next system edges closer, but it’s still a day filled with sunshine. Highs begin in the upper 70s to lower 80s Monday and rise into the lower to middle 80s by Wednesday.
