Police say the driver of a minivan that struck a parked car and flipped onto its roof was driving under the influence. It happened around 10:30pm Wednesday on the 400 block of Brimmer Avenue. Police say Robert Hooper III, 28, was intoxicated at the scene. When an officer tried to take him into custody, Hooper resisted. Volunteer firefightershad to help hold Hooper down until the officer was finally able to handcuff him.Hooper was taken to Ephrata Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries and a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. He is charged with resisting arrest and DUI and is currently in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.
