COOL NIGHT AHEAD

A chilly start leads to warmer days ahead

High pressure remains to our north, and this makes for a cool but comfortable night across the Lower Susquehanna River Valley. The clouds fade quickly through the evening, leaving clear skies the rest of the night. With light to calm winds, temperatures fall into the 50s to near 60 degrees.

SLOWLY WARMING

Dry weather continues through the week ahead. A blocked flow keeps our next system to the west of the area. This means plenty of sunshine for Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday clouds build a little as the next system edges closer, but it’s still a day filled with lots of sunshine. There’s only a small chance for an isolated thunderstorm or two. Highs begin in the upper 70s to lower 80s Monday and rise into the middle to upper 80s by Wednesday.

NEXT SYSTEM

Thursday and Friday stay dry after a front pushes through overnight Wednesday. High pressure is allowed to slip in, cooling temperatures a bit. Highs reach the lower 80s. On Saturday, temperatures should have no problem reaching the middle to upper 80s once the cooler air exits. Expect plenty of humidity too, creating an uncomfortable feel. Once the next front arrives Saturday, expect the chance for showers and thunderstorms. The threat lingers into Sunday as well. Highs are in the middle to upper 80s.

Have a great week!
