A New Holland woman go to trial on charges that she concealed the death of her stillborn premature baby by placing the body in the trash.

A judge ruled on Thursday that there is enough evidence against Marie Lavaud, 30, to send her case to trial.

Lavaud is now scheduled for a formal arraignment on counts of concealing the death of a child and abuse of a corpse. Her formal arraignment is scheduled for September 26.

Lavaud is still currently in Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $150,000 cash bail.

On  July 27, police were called to Lavaud’s apartment located along East Jackson Street. According to police reports, Lavaud confessed to friends and officers that she had given birth and placed the baby in the freezer before putting it in the trash. Officers later found the baby in a trash bag  outside the home.
