Rite Aid robbery in Hampden Township

Hampden Township Police are investigating a robbery that took place just before 6:00 a.m. Thursday at the  Rite Aid located along the 4900 block of Carlisle Pike in Mechanicsburg.

According to police  a white male in his mid 40’s entered the store and approached the sales counter to buy  a drink and cigarettes. The suspect told the sales clerk he was armed with a weapon and demanded cash from the register.

Officials say  the suspect then fled the store with cigarettes, soda and cash.  Police believe he was riding a motorcycle.

The suspect is being described as wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt and eye glasses with a slender build and a mustache.

Police say he may be connected to another robbery that took place earlier in the evening at Sunoco located at 32nd and Market Streets in Camp Hill.
