T’STORMS FADE

Afternoon heavy showers and thunderstorms continue into the evening hours before dwindling. A few storms could be on the stronger side, producing gusty winds and localized areas of minor flooding. Otherwise, the activity calms. The overnight period could still see a few showers, but overall it is much quieter. It’s a warm and soupy night, with temperatures in the upper 60s to lower 70s. Hazy and foggy areas form, lasting into Labor Day morning.

LABOR DAY FORECAST

Labor Day a few isolated thunderstorms are still possible, but it won’t put a damper on any outdoor plans. Just be prepared to head indoors temporarily if you hear thunder or see lightning. Locally heavy downpours are still possible with any thunderstorms that form. The warmth and steaminess continues. Temperatures reach the middle 80s.

STAYING HOT & HUMID

Tuesday our next system approaches. This brings a better chance for thunderstorms with highs near 90 degrees. The sun is back on Wednesday, and this continues into Thursday and Friday. Highs remain above seasonal averages through the rest of the week. Readings hover in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. Our next thunderstorm chance comes on Saturday as a potent cold front approaches. Sunday clears out, with noticeably cooler and less humid air sliding into the region.
