A new study conducted by the Save The Children Federation found that 21 states in the United States do not meet emergency planning standards for schools and child care providers.

The organization looked at four criteria to conduct its report card including states’ plans for evacuation and relocation, reuniting families with children after a disaster, plans for children with special needs and K-12 multiple disasters.

Of the four categories, the state of Pennsylvania did better than average, passing all but one.

The report found that PA is lacking in emergency plans for children with disabilities.

To raise awareness about the lack of emergency standards for children with disabilities in the state you can sign a pledge at http://www.savethechildren.org/.
