UPDATE: Eureka Fire Co. Chief said Tuesday's fire has been ruled an arson.  Anyone with information is asked to call police.

ORIGINAL STORY:

Firefighters in York County quickly brought a fire under control Tuesday morning.  The fire broke out shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday at the Chiropractic Wellness Center on South Main Street in Stewartstown Borough.

Eureka Fire Chief Ira Walker Jr. said the fire started on the first floor of the business. No one was inside at the time, and no one was hurt.

Chief Walker said firefighters spent hours making sure the fire did not spread.

"Anytime you have fire in an older building, I don't know exactly the age of this building, but you have to check for fire in the walls. It travels up and can go across the roof so that's why we took the steps we did. At this time it appears that the fire did not spread out along the roof," said Chief Walker.

A neighbor spotted smoke and called 911. "I noticed black smoke all over the road and I pulled in my driveway to make sure it wasn't my house since I'm right across the street. When I realized it was the chiropractor I ended up calling 911," said neighbor Dylan Casteel. "By the time they got here they had me evacuate over to the parking lot."

A State Police Fire Marshall is investigating although Chief Walker said it does not appear to be suspicious.
