A federal grand jury in Harrisburg has indicted a man after he allegedly fired a gun at a city police officer.
Reginald Barton Jr., 28, was indicted Wednesday on counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.
Police said Barton was stopped on July 19 along the 1400 block of Zarker Street for driving with a canceled license plate ,when he ran off and fired a shot at the chasing officer. He was arrested after tossing the gun and a bag of crack cocaine, officials said.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
