It was an emotional day as thousands gathered in Northeast Pennsylvania for the funeral of the State Trooper killed during an ambush at the Blooming Grove Barracks in Pike County. Cpl. Bryon Dickson II was laid to rest Thursday at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Scranton.

During the service friends and colleagues talked about Cpl. Dickson. Dickson was a Marine, a Penn State graduate, and devoted member of the Pennsylvania State Police. Most of all, he was devoted to his wife Tiffany and his two young sons.

“To you Bryon, as I know you are here among us, I promise you that we will take care of Tiffany and the boys as you have perfectly taken care of them throughout your life,” said friend Cpl. Derek Felsman as he spoke at the funeral. “Godspeed Hammer, we love you and we miss you.”

Cpl. Dickson was laid to rest at the Dunmore Cemetery in Lackawanna County.
