LANCASTER CITY (WPMT)-Several homes were evacuated Monday after construction crews accidentally severed a natural gas line in Lancaster City.
It happened around 8:30 a.m. along the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue. According to authorities, crews were working on a water main when someone accidentally cut a natural gas line. UGI was notified and workers were able to quickly make repairs.
Twelve people living along Lancaster Avenue had to be evacuated, authorities said. Everyone was allowed to return home shortly after 10 a.m. when repairs were complete.
