THIS EVENING: Clouds will be pretty thick across the area this evening. Temps will fall slowly through the 60s.  Winds out of the east will be a bit breezy about 5-15 mph.  While the air is still dry, the atmosphere will be moistening up and with the low advancing up the coast, showers could be here as early as 10pm across southern York and Lancaster counties.  The rain will spread across the area overnight.

Evening Forecast

MORNING: Expect the morning commute to be slowed by wet weather. Periods of rain will continue for much of the morning. Lows will be milder and more seasonal, in the middle 50s, due to the clouds and wet weather.

TOMORROW: As of now, it looks like the heaviest rain will fall east of Harrisburg down I83 towards York.  Rainfall amounts will vary greatly as there will be a sharp cutoff from the lightest amounts of about .3-.5” in the west, to possibly over an 1” in the east.  We need the rain and this will help to cut into our monthly deficit.   The model below depicts amounts over 2″.  This may be over doing the numbers a bit.  However, we should see the highest rain amounts fall in the east. Temperatures will barely move and will be cool in the middle 60s.  Rain shuts off rather early.   Most areas will be drying out by early afternoon.

Rainfall Potential

OUTLOOK:  There is pretty good agreement amongst the models the low pulls away and allows for high pressure to return for Friday.  We return to sunshine and milder weather as temps warm back up to the mid and upper 70s thanks to plenty sunshine. Plus, it looks like another stellar night for High School Football Frenzy.  Expect temps around 71 for kick off and falling to the low 60s by end of the game under mostly clear conditions.  Bring a jacket it is likely to feel chilly in the evening. Over the weekend, lots of blue skies and very little cloud cover, we see temps warm up quickly at or above 80 degrees. Early next week clouds start to return but temperatures look to remain above normal with our next threat for showers holding off until late Tuesday.

PENN STATE:  Heading to Happy Valley this weekend for the match up of the Nittany Lions against the Bobcats? The weather will be picture perfect with plenty of sunshine.  Tailgating will have to start early and may be a tad chilly in the 50s.  But sunshine heats things up quickly by game time.  Near 70 and around halftime we are talking about mid 70s.
