YORK COUNTY, Pa.(WPMT) A series of smash and grab burglaries at businesses in the Red Lion area of York County. The latest occurred overnight at the Cape Horn Family Restaurant along the 600 block of Lombard Road in Windsor Township.
The restaurant manager tells FOX43 that the burglar smashed through the front door with a rock. The bandit then took the cash register drawer. But because of the recent burglaries no money was left in the draw. She then said the bandit finding the drawer empty re-entered the restaurant and broke into the office. He was unsuccessful at breaking into the office safe.
The restaurant burglary and burglaries at two other businesses in the area may be the work of the same person. Clarity Salon along the 2900 block of Cape Horn Road was hit on Wednesday night and Red Lion Chiropractic along the 2500 block of Cape Horn Road were also burglarized.
York Area Regional Police is asking the public to call 911 immediately and report any suspicious activities in or around local businesses after hours.
