The maintenance manager of a motel in New Cumberland told police he was robbed and assaulted in his room early Thursday.
The robbery occurred at the Harrisburg West Inn in the 100 block of Limekiln Road in Fairview Township. Police said the manager reported that when he answered a knock at his door around 2 a.m., two women came into the room and distracted him.
The suspect said a man then entered the room and assaulted him before the robbers stole a safe and a cash box containing money.
The manager received minor injuries in the assault, but did not require medical treatment, police said.
