The former junior high cross country coach at Annville-Cleona is accused of raping a 14 year old boy. State Police say Benjamin Scott Tshudy had a relationship with the boy that started as a friendship in 2011. According to court documents, Tshudy started spending time with the victim at a property owned by Tshudy’s parents in North Annville Township the following summer of 2012. He showered the victim with gifts, including  a cell phone, laptop computer, an iPad, even a cow that was kept in a barn on the property. Eventually, Tshudy took the relationship in a physical direction, first exposing himself to the victim and then touching him. Tshudy threatened the boy that he would sell the cow if he did not hang out with him. Tshudy forced the boy to perform oral sex on him. According to investigators, this went on for several months. In the documents, it is also alleged that Tshudy applied corn oil to his penis then covered it in cattle corn. He then had the cow lick it off of his penis.

The victim came forward in March of 2014. Tshudy was charged in August.

Annville Cleona School District issued the following statement:

Yesterday, the Lebanon Daily News reported that a former Annville-Cleona coach had criminal charges filed against him. Ben Tshudy was a volunteer coach with the boys cross-country program at Annville-Cleona from 2011-2013. As is our practice, all volunteers must submit the required child abuse report and state and FBI clearances. Mr. Tshudy complied with those requirements and there were no findings. The police and district attorney’s office did not inform us of the investigation or charges prior to the release by the Daily News. Based upon the charges that have been filed, there is no connection between the school district and Mr. Tshudy and this conduct. The investigation was completed outside of the district and we don’t have any knowledge of the investigation outside of what was reported in the Daily News.
