Rainfall Potential

THIS EVENING

Clouds are spreading in from the west and will continue to thicken up. Temperatures have been nice and mild but will fall to the mid 50s. Winds will be settling down too.

Evening Forecast

MORNING

Can’t rule out an isolated shower, otherwise, we will be starting with mostly cloudy skies and morning lows in the upper 40s to low 50s. It won’t be as chilly as this morning. Grab the umbrella though because rain chances go up as the day wears on.

TOMORROW AFTERNOON

Low pressure riding along a stalled boundary to our south will bring a chance for rain in the afternoon and evening. The heaviest and steadier rain will arrive overnight. Highs will be much cooler in the upper 50s to near 60. Coolest temperatures will be located further south where the higher rain amounts will fall.

OUTLOOK

The front remains stalled and as low pressure slides out of here showers could linger into Saturday morning but high pressure building in will help to dry out the rest of day and evening. In fact it looks like Sunday will continue to dry to start. Highs will be cool in the low 60s. Sunday, the high moves east and a ridge slowly builds in. A warm front approaching may bring in a shower or two as early as late Sunday. Highs after a cool start in the 40s will warm to near 60. It turns a bit milder, with highs warming to the upper 60s, as the ridge builds in and winds shift more to the south for Columbus Day. A few showers will still be possible but more dry hours are likely. Then we watch for the next cold front and deepening upper level low for late Tuesday and Wednesday. Ahead of the front it will be mild with highs in the low to mid 70s Tuesday and showers and thunderstorms are likely towards evening. As the front crosses, showers may linger into Wednesday but the clouds will hang around as the upper level trough digs in and starts to turn negative. This will slow the front and keep the threat for showers around a little longer Wednesday. Question will be and there are differences amongst the models to be worked out is whether the upper level low moves out or gets hung up through Thursday. We should still hit 70 Wednesday but cooler air returns with highs in the mid 60s Thursday and morning lows returning to the 40s.
