A York County man who lives on Pheasant Ridge Road said he saw a “large, muscular feline” near his house on Monday afternoon in Dillsburg. He described it as brown in color and big. "We went out there. We didn't see any tracks, we didn't see any scat. No one else in that neighborhood had seen anything so at this point we're unsure," said Travis Lau who's a spokesman for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Nancy McElwee also lives on Pheasant Ridge Road and said, "It's kind of scary. You never know what's going to happen. It could attack you at any time or eat our rabbits that run around here."

It may have been a bobcat, but the eyewitness told officials it had a long tail, which means it also could have been a fisher. However, it could have been an escaped mountain lion. People are legally allowed to keep them in the Commonwealth, but none of those animals were reported missing. "Certainly if you have people that are permitted to possess mountain lions there are likely people who possess them and aren't permitted to do so, so there is the chance of a captive animal escaping,” said Lau. The Carroll Township Police are telling people to use caution and never to approach a wild animal.
