Ashley and Tyson Gardner became a viral sensation earlier this month when they posted a video of their reaction to finding out they would soon be the parents of quadruplets.
The Utah couple learned in July that their in-vitro fertilization attempt was successful after 8 years of trying to get pregnant.
Now Ashley is in the hospital after undergoing emergency surgery when doctors found signs of twin-to-twin syndrome, according to ABC News.
The condition occurs when there is a blood supply imbalance between identical twins that share a placenta. The condition can be harmful to both twins by receiving too much or too little fluid.
Ashley’s surgery on Wednesday appears to have corrected the condition of twin-to-twin transfusion according to the couple’s Facebook page.
Tyson posted this video response to let friends, family, and followers know what was going on:
In addition to that surgery, Ashley also underwent a procedure to try and keep her cervix closed for as long as possible.
