Jennie Jenkins waived her right to a preliminary program and will do community service, pay restitution and a fine and then her record will be expunged. The whole process could take 1-2 years.

Charging documents state that Jenkins wrote herself checks from the athletic league’s account and submitted falsified time sheets for periods when she was actually performing regular police duties.

Charges against Jenkins include four counts of Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition and one count of Theft by Deception.

Jenkins, had been president of the Harrisburg Police Athletic League since the program was restarted in Jan. 2012. The league was formed to provide social, cultural, recreational and educational programs for youth within the city of Harrisburg.

Jenkins is still a Harrisburg police officer. She is currently suspended, without pay.
