Home ice and fan support helped push the Hershey Bears to victory Saturday night; the Bears won their home opener 4-1.

The team was five games into the new season, but began the club’s 77th home schedule with a matchup against the rival Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

The Bears skated on the ice in front of a packed house with fans filling the arena to the rafters. Dedicated fans were happy that hockey season has begun once again.

"Every year, I'm looking forward to it, looking forward to see if they get the Calder Cup. You can't get it every season but I'm still here, I'm still supporting the Hershey Bears no matter what," said season ticket holder Shaun Betts.

The Bears play at home again Sunday evening versus the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The puck drops at 5:00 p.m. for the "Pink The Rink" matchup. For more information and tickets, click here: http://www.hersheybears.com/index.php
