EAST LAMPETER TWP. Pa.(WPMT) A Lancaster County man faces a felony charge for stealing a large electric fireplace last Friday. The fireplace was in a shopping cart that Robert Lawrence Harvey, 51, of East Lampeter was pushing at around 7:22 am along the 1800 block of Lincoln Highway East.
Harvey told the investigating officer that he had just purchased the fireplace at the Wal-Mart, but could not produce a receipt. The officer contacted Wal-Mart and was told that the fireplace was missing and had not been sold.
Harvey was seen in store video surveillance placing the fireplace in a cart and walking out of the store without paying. Due to prior retail theft prosecutions, Harvey was charged with felony Retail Theft.
