UPDATE:  HERSHEY, Pa.-(WPMT) Officials at Penn State Hershey Medical Center confirm that Earl Calhoun, who had been missing for nearly three days has died.

LEWISBERRY, Pa. (WPMT)  The two day search for a missing York County man is over.  Fairview Township Police say that at around 4:30 PM this afternoon,  88 year old Earl Calhoun was located by rescue workers in the woods off of Pinetown Road, Lewisberry. The area is about a mile from his home.  He was alive and conscious, but not very alert. He was flown by Life Lion for medical treatment to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Calhoun was discovered missing at around 9:00 PM on Monday, October 27th. He has Alzheimers disease and apparently walked away from his home during the night.

At around noon today in a treeline approximately 1/2 mile from his home, searchers found the hat Calhoun had been wearing.  He was then discovered several hours later only a few hundred yards from where the hat was located.

The Fairview Township Police has extended thanks to the hundreds of people and many different organizations who assisted in the search including members from many local fire departments, DCNR employees, dogs and volunteers from Middle Creek Search and Rescue, bloodhounds from Summit Search and Rescue, and helicopters from the Pennsylvania State Police and Maryland State Police.
