New documents released today detail the inventory accused state trooper killer Eric Frein had stockpiled inside the airport hangar he was captured near last week. The list contains over 100 items, including everything from weapons (a bolt action Mauser, a Dragunov sniper rifle, a 9mm handgun and a bayonet) to computer equipment to toilet paper. The list shows that Frein planned meticulously and was ready for a prolonged run from police.
It also leads to the conclusion that Frein was caught by surprise, with a cache of weapons and hundreds of rounds of ammunition in the hangar but not on his person when apprehended.
Frein allegedly shot two state troopers on September 12th, killing Cpl. Bryon Dickson and seriously injuring Tpr. Alex Douglass. He then managed to elude authorities in the woodlands of Pike and Monroe Counties for 48 days before being caught by US Marshals at the abandoned Birchwood-Pocono Airpark near Tannersville last week.
