An 89-year-old woman was struck by a car in Columbia Borough on Saturday evening.
According to police the accident happened in the area of North Third and Walnut streets around 6:45 p.m. Mildred Brown of Columbia Borough was found unresponsive at the scene by emergency responders.She was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died as a result of her injuries.
The driver who hit Brown remained at the scene and police are investigating the crash.
