A cancer patient in Minnesota gets the thrill of a lifetime, from a legendary performer. Teresa Shaw got a new guitar from country singer Garth Brooks. She has been fighting stage-3 breast cancer for the past five months. When Brooks saw her unique sign at his concert on Friday, he took a moment to give her a night she will always remember.
“Last night was just a boost that I really needed. When he sang “The Dance” I asked the usher if I could get a little bit closer so he could see the sign, ‘Chemo this morning, Garth tonight, enjoying the dance,’ that’s one of my favorite songs of his,” Shaw said.
Her sign not only caught Garth’s attention, it stopped the show. He sang his song “The Dance” to her, then handed her his guitar.
After that, Brooks, whose sister and mother died from cancer, took Teresa’s sign, held it up and yelled “You have all my strength, you have everybody’s strength in here, and you go out there and kick cancer’s butt.”
