SPRINGETTSBURY TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-A 32-year-old former employee of the York County Youth Development Center faces charges after police said he exchanged sexually explicit texts and Facebook messages with a teen girl at the center.

Anthony J. Orr Jr., of York, was arrested Nov. 3 and charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, corruption of minors and contact/communication with a minor-sexual abuse. He was released on $10,000 bail.

According to the center’s website, it provides shelter to youth in conjunction with Juvenile Probation and the Office of Children, Youth and Families.

The investigation came to light in August after the 17-year-old girl’s probation officer contacted police about the girl sending nude photographs of herself to  men, court documents state.

The victim admitted she sent naked pictures  and a video of herself to two men. She gave officers permission to search her phone and Facebook account, according to court documents. Investigators used the information to track down Orr and the other man.

Orr told police during an interview that he met the girl while working night shift at YDC. Orr admitted the pair exchanged sexually explicit text messages and Facebook conversations. He also admitted to receiving nude photographs and videos from the victim. According to court documents, Orr told authorities he was going through rough times at home and knew what he was doing was wrong.

He denied ever having sexual contact with the victim in person, police said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 9.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact York Area Regional Police Detective Donald Hopple Jr. at 717-741-1259.
