PALMYRA TOWNSHIP — Prosecutors filed two charges of terrorism against accused cop killer Eric Frein.
The charges came at a hearing at magisterial district justice’s office in Pike County.
Frein participated in the hearing by video conference.
Frein is accused of shooting two troopers at the Blooming Grove state police barracks in September, killing Corporal Bryon Dickson and severely wounding Trooper Alex Douglass.
Prosecutors also dropped one of two charges of attempted homicide for the shooting of Trooper Douglass.
An updated criminal complaint released Thursday included a letter police say Frein wrote to his parents. Investigators recovered it on a thumb drive. They say he began writing it last December and last accessed it October 6, while the manhunt was underway.
It reads in part, “I do not have a death wish but I know the odds. I tired my best to do this thing without getting identified, but if you are reading this then I was not successful.”
