MANCHESTER TWP., PA(WPMT) – A York City man is behind bars charged with pistol whipping a 19 year old Lancaster woman in a motel parking lot.  It happened shortly after 2 am Sunday at the Econolodge, 222 Arsenal Road in Manchester Township.

The woman told Northern York County Regional Police that she was walking through the parking lot to the motel office when she heard a man behind her ask, “Where are you from?”   The woman ignored the question and kept walking. The man was persistent and continued to pester the woman.

The man then threaten to shoot at the woman from behind.  When she turned to face the man, he struck her in the face with a handgun.  He then pointed the gun at the woman and stated, “I’m going to f____g kill you”.  The woman then ran away and called 911. She suffered a minor facial injury.

Police were able to locate the suspect in a room of the motel.  He was identified as 24 year old Christopher Michael Penn, whose last known address was at 38 North Tremont Street, York.  Officers also seized a .22 caliber Beretta handgun from the room. The gun was found to have been stolen during a burglary on Saturday, the previous day.

Charges against Penn include Aggravated Assault, Receiving Stolen Property, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Terroristic Threats, Recklessly Endangering Another Person and Simple Assault.

Following arraignment Penn was sent to York County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail.
