WEST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP (WPMT)-A swimming coach who works with two school districts in Lancaster County was arrested Wednesday after investigators uncovered child pornography on his computer, according to police reports.

Patrick E. Fatta, 42, of Lancaster, is charged with two counts of child pornography and criminal use of communication facility.

Police and officers from the Lancaster County Computer Crimes Unit searched Fatta’s home in West Hempfield Township early Wednesday morning after receiving a tip that Fatta had been downloading child pornography. A computer containing multiple images and videos of child pornography was seized during the search, according to police reports.

Fatta was arrested and  placed on house arrest with electronic monitoring pending a preliminary hearing.

He is expected to appear in court on Dec. 3.

According to police reports, Fatta is a swimming/diving coach at Hempfield High School and Manheim Township High School as well as a swimming/diving coach for a youth program at West Chester University. Investigators said they have been in contact with each of the school districts and the university. At this time authorities do not believe any of photographs or videos depicts any inappropriate contact with students he coaches.

The investigation is ongoing.

It is interesting to note that on many websites that have a story about the arrest of someone accused of child porn, the moderators won’t approve your comment if you do not agree with the mob who say that they want the accused to be castrated or executed. If you don’t have this kind of savage thinking, and you try to suggest that the prison sentences for viewing child porn should be less than the sentences for producers of child porn, your comment will either not be approved, or it will be there for a few minutes and then disappear.

(Right now you can be sentenced to 10, 20 even 40 years for viewing child porn, which is the same number of years that somebody gets who has sexually assaulted a child and videotaped it.)
