We’re following breaking news out of Florida this morning.

At least three people have been shot in a library at Florida State University by a gunman who was later shot and killed by campus police.

Earlier, a school alert message urged people to take shelter due to a “violent situation.”

According to the Tallahassee Democrat Newspaper, the shooting happened early this morning.

The paper also said emergency workers took two people to the hospital for gunshot wounds.

One was in critical condition; the other in stable condition, said hospital official Stephanie Derzypolski.

The condition of the third victim or where that person was taken wasn’t known.

Officials placed students on lockdown in campus buildings.
