Former Gettysburg teacher pleas not guilty to child sex assault charges

CHAMBERSBURG, PA.(WPMT) – Former Gettysburg teacher, Robert Bonebrake, Jr., is headed to trial after pleading not guilty to sexual assault charges involving an 11 year old boy.  The alleged assaults began in 2013. Following an investigation, Bonebrake was taken into custody last April.

The 67 year old Chambersburg man entered his plea Wednesday afternoon in Franklin County Court.  Charges against Bonebrake include Involuntary Deviant Sexual Intercourse with a Child, Indecent Assault, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Police say Bonebrake was a teacher in the Gettysburg School District from 1969 until he retired in 2003.

Bonebrake remains free on $250,000 bail..
