EPHRATA, PA (WPMT) – A homeless man is arrested in a series of thefts from vehicles and possession of a stolen firearm.  Ephrata Borough Police responded to a call at 4:05 am Monday to a report of a man rummaging through vehicles in the first block of Orange Street in the Lancaster County borough.  The man allegedly had gone through at least two vehicles and had tried to gain entry into several others as he walked along the street.

With minutes police located the suspect outside the Ephrata Motel in the 500 block of S. State Street. A witness positively identified him as the man involved the thefts.

While officers were speaking to suspect, identified as Frankie A. Reeves, 21, no known address, a black semi-automatic .40 caliber handgun fell to the ground from under his jacket. The gun was had been taken from a vehicle directly across the street from the Ephrata Motel.

Charges against Reeves include three counts of Theft from Motor Vehicle, including felony Theft of the Handgun and Possession of a Concealed Weapon.

Following arraignment Reeves was sent to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $25,000.00 bail.
