Hundreds of runners laced up their sneakers Thanksgiving morning for a good cause.

It was all part of the 10th Annual SMT Turkey Trot Race in New Cumberland, York County.

Leading up to the 5K, folks enjoyed music, bingo and of course plenty of food and fun for the whole family.

Many runners we spoke to said said participating in the Turkey Trot has become a holiday tradition they now look forward to every year.

“Each year it’s kind of cool to see that you have to register even earlier,’ said runner, Sara Benson. “My first year, there was only 300 runners and now it’s to the point where you can barely get out of the park, so it’s really cool to support such a great cause.”

All of the proceeds from the Turkey Trot will go to Vickie’s Angel Foundation which helps support cancer patients and their families living in New Cumberland.
