Man charged in shots fired incident in residential suburban Harrisburg

SWATARA TWP., PA(WPMT) Swatara Township Police make a quick arrest in a shots fired incident in suburban Harrisburg.  Several police cruisers converged on the 4200 block of Derry Street shortly after 2 pm this afternoon.  That section of Derry Street was closed to traffic while officers searched for the alleged shooter.

Within a short time, police located Gregory Scott Jones, 44, who lived along the block.  Jones was in possession of at least three firearms, which police seized.

Jones claimed that he and a friend were "testing" the firearms by shooting rounds into a dirt embankment behind his home. There were no injuries from the gunfire.

Charges against Jones include, Persons Not to Possess, Use, Manufacture, Control, Sell or Transfer Firearms, Disorderly Conduct, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.
