Not everyone lined up to shop for Black Friday – a crowd also turned out at Ski Roundtop, which opened for one of its earliest seasons today.
“We actually had people camped out at about 7 o’clock ready to ski this morning,” says Sam Krepps, director of marketing.
The resort snow operators have been able to make snow for the past few weeks, when temperatures have been in the 20s with low humidity – the best conditions for blowing snow.
"People are usually hounding us by about September, looking to ski," says Krepps. "So anytime we're saying anything about snow or opening, they're always ready to go."
Until Christmas Eve, first-time skiers can buy a package of rentals, lessons and lift tickets for $49.
