A York County high school coach faces charges after allegedly sex-texting two female students.

Carroll Township Police say Ronald McDonald, 39, a boys basketball coach at Northern High School sent inappropriately sexually related messages to  two juvenile girls starting in September 2013 until February 2014.  The girls were students at the school.

According to court documents,  one victim told police McDonald started sending the victim smiley faces through text messages and eventually told her he found her attractive and liked her attitude. Eventually,  McDonald told the victim that he wanted to meet with her outside of school to have sex.

The victim said she was last contacted by McDonald in February 2014 and asked if she told anyone about the texts and calls between the two. McDonald allegedly said he had received a call from the Athletic Director at the high school and wanted to know if she had said anything, court documents stated.

The second victim told police that she first met McDonald when he was her girls basketball coach in a summer league, according to the affidavit. McDonald allegedly began texting her about basketball and the texts eventually escalated to things like, “blondes do it best” or “I wish you were older,” documents said.

McDonald served three seasons as head basketball coach at Northern.

Charges against McDonald include two counts of Institutional Sexual Assault and six counts of Corruption of Minors.

He is free on $100,000 unsecured bail.
