LANCASTER CO., PA(WPMT)  Lancaster County Commissioner Scott Martin says that he will not see a third term in 2015.   The GOP commissioner cited the many challenges during his 8 year run including the Great Recession of 2008.

He also cited his work during his first term of streamlining the county government, by eliminating six departments, reducing the county workforce and bending the long term cost curve to reduce future liabilities.  In his second term the long awaited Radio Project was brought to fruition, getting a handle on the 150 N. Queen building project, cleaning up capital needs left by the sale of Conestoga View, including construction of a new county morgue, and the negotiating and restructure pf the Convention Center Financing plan that will save millions in interest costs.

“I’ve been blessed with a wonderfully supportive family and friends for which I am grateful. I am also grateful for the support and confidence of the Republican Committee of Lancaster County and most importantly, the voters of this great county that entrusted me to work on their behalf. This was a team effort and we got it done, together.
It’s been a true honor to serve the people of Lancaster County. Thank you!”

The county’s other commissioners are current chairman Republican Dennis Stuckey and Democrat Craig Lehman.
